After the catastrophic destruction of Draenor, the Alliance has new problems.  A renegade band of orcs in the Alterac region has been harassing orcish internment camps in an attempt to free their brothers.  Meanwhile news has reached Lordaeron of death cults and an evil plague in the northlands.

 

The orcs and humans have finally ended their historic clash and each race has built a stronghold in the Kalimdor region.  Now pacified, the orcs seek only peace.  Back in Azeroth, the Nation of Lordaeron lies in ruins.  Its once great cities have been destroyed and are now populated by King Arthas's undead.  The Lich King summons his heir Arthas to the Frozen Throne where he will inherit his true destiny.  However, Illidan has sworn to the demonlord Kil'jaeden that the Frozen Throne will be destroyed.  The two forces race towards the land of Northrend where the Lich King, encased in ice, rules from his Frozen Throne.
